Ugly Big Creek Lake

Big Creek Lake is where Mobile and other communities get their drinking water. For years I have been complaining to MAWSS about the trash in the lake and on the shoreline. So far the assholes running MAWSS have ignored the complaints and have done absolutely nothing to remove the trash, some of which is hazardous to public health. Went kayaking yesterday to see MAWSS picked up any of the trash last year. Nope.

What is in Mobile's drinking water lake? No one cares what is floating in the lake as long as the few chemicals they test for are within allowable tolerance.
Big new trash floating in Big Creek Lake compliments of Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS).

Dead deer floating in your drinking water. If this deer was on the side of the road there is someone to call to get it removed. There is no one to call to get dead animals removed from the drinking water supply.

Saw lots of oil containers alone the shoreline.

When this can rusts the remaining brake cleaner will leach into the drinking water lake.

Shoreline trash is ignored. Some has been there for probably decades because MAWSS has no program to ever remove the shoreline trash except by the highway where it is convenient to access.

Big Creek Lake, Mobile's drinking water supply is looking more like a garbage dump every year.

Trash, trash and more trash.

I unscrewed the cap on one of the MAWSS ignored pieces of trash floating in the water and guess what came out? I don't know. The bottle had no label. It does not look healthy to drink.

MAWSS certainly does not care. They ought get those political cronies on the MAWSS board to get off their lazy ass to walk the shoreline of Big Creek Lake to remove the garbage.

Meantime, what is in Mobile's drinking water supply and trash dump? No one knows. No one cares as long as the water passes a few tests. Drink up. Got Cancer Yet?

Ugly Flowerwood Nursery

This is a case of a specific waterway polluter called Flowerwood Nursery. Despite complaints about the plastic container pollution, plastic plant containers can be found polluting the wetlands and shorelines of Alligator Bayou all the way to the Dog River and Mobile Bay miles downstream. Environmental Enforcement Agencies, Legislators, Local Environmental Groups, City and State leaders, and even the Media don't give a shit if a business pollutes the public waterways. That is the UGLY truth as I see it from the seat of my kayak.

Polluting Mobile's Waterways With Mardi Trash

With regards to Mardi Gras, the City of Mobile brags on its Public Works department saying they, "Installed 64 grates on storm drains to prevent litter from entering waterways."

Meantime, this is a storm water drain along a main Mobile parade route seen last weekend. No mesh grate on this drain.

Nothing preventing China's Mardi Trash beads, confetti and other trash from going into this storm drain.

Why is it no surprise to see Mobile's  Public Works doing a half ass job when it comes to preventing the pollution of Mobile waterways with Mardi Trash? They should put narrow mesh grates on all the inlets along the parade routes instead of just some of them.

Ugly Garbage Pickup Service

This is the scene AFTER the City of Mobile garbage collection service in Mobile, Alabama. And the City has leaders like councilman Freddy Richardson claiming the City certainly plays no role in littering and the pollution of Mobile waterways.

Well, if City garbage collection service ignores the trash a few feet away from the City's garbage Cart, regardless of whether the trash got on the ground by a dog, from an over stuffed container, from wind blowing over the unstable top heavy container, or from trash falling to the ground during automated arm pickup, the City is guilty of substandard garbage pickup service if they ignore the trash. That is Ugly!

In this case, if it rains while the trash remains in the drainage ditch it becomes Storm Water Trash and it is likely to end up polluting a public waterway.

Ignoring trash on the ground next to a garbage cart during garbage pickup service makes as much sense as a worker at a car wash tasked with cleaning the car ignoring muddy areas on the car while washing it because "He or She didn't put the mud there in those spots.".

Mobile Bay Trash Dump

Someone has an UGLY tire dump site on the shoreline of Mobile Bay along the so called Crepe Myrtle Bicycle Trail. One new tire has been added to the over three dozen other tires.

I can give you one reason why the world's ocean levels are rising. There is a LOT of rubber displacing water.

It reminds me of Alabama's artificial reef program. According to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Alabama has one of the largest artificial reef programs IN THE WORLD.

Even though the coast of Alabama is only about 70 miles long there are reportedly over 17,000 artificial reefs made by man. That means there is garbage dump about every 21 feet on average hidden under water off the coast of Alabama.

I say garbage dump because artificial reefs are made by dumping military tanks, ships small and large, concrete bridge rubble, metal bridge spans, car bodies, appliances and no telling what other crap is being dumped in the water along the coast to create unauthorized reefs. Everything dumped into the water displaces water causing water levels to rise. It all adds up.

That is Alabama for you. First they fill their drainage ditches with trash. Then they fill their creeks and rivers with trash. Then they fill their Bays with trash. Then they fill their shorelines with trash. Then they turn their tiny Coast into one large dumping ground and brag about. That is UGLY!

Ugly Bayfront Park

March 2013 - Overgrown sign and damaged boardwalk.

May 2015 - Sign now visible but the boardwalk is even in worse condition.

January 2016 - Today 10 foot high weeds hide both the boardwalk and sign.

The wooden boardwalk and interpretive signage at Mobile County's Bayfront Park remains neglected year after year. Bayfront Park is just another blighted park in Mobile County. The pathetic part is there is someone on site at the Park every day. Obviously the Bayfront Park owner does not care about the decaying park infrastructure. That is Ugly!

Polluted As Usual

I paddled by the expensive Stormwater Systems Bandalong litter trap in Eslava Creek yesterday. The shoreline was littered with the City of Mobile's storm water trash, even at the litter trap. Trash was floating around in the water. For this kayaker, the expensive litter trap has not improved the trash polluted scenery in Eslava Creek.

How is that litter trap doing? Here is a home about half a mile downstream of the litter trap. Again, the shoreline is lined with the City's MS4 trash. ADEM cannot seem to do anything to get the City's MS4 trash removed from the Mobile's waterways.

Eslava Creek and Dog River are STILL polluted. ADEM needs to start fining the City of Mobile on a DAILY basis as long as the City is ignoring their illegal pollution.

Oh, but the City cannot remove trash from private property is one excuse I read as to why trash is happily ignored by the City. Since the City's MS4 system is responsible for delivering Mobile's litter chunker trash onto the shoreline of private properties like seen in these two photos, the City should be obligated to pick up the trash. Instead, ADEM, the US EPA and the City of Mobile and the County of Mobile and the State of Alabame ALL continue to ignore the polluting of our precious public waterways.

Why is it my opinion about environmental care and environmental enforcement agencies and environmental watch dog groups is so negative? Despite complaints to dozens of agencies, groups, and the media about the above Television that is normally floating in the water at high tide, not a single representative of the groups and agencies receiving my written and email complaints bothered to contact me to inquire where the TV is so they could arrange to have it removed from Dog River.

The UGLY truth is the US EPA, ADEM, the City of Mobile and environmental groups do not give a fuck what is floating in Alabama waterways.

The UGLY truth is there is no one to contact to get HAZARDOUS materials as defined by the US EPA removed from waterways in polluted Alabama.

The UGLY truth is there is not a single person employed full time to remove trash pollution from Mobile's well documented polluted waterways. That is fucking retarded.

Government WANTS you to get cancer.

Ugly Mobile County

March 2013. Trashy popular fishing hole on Dauphin Island Parkway next to Heron Bay Cut.

January 2016. Almost 3 years later and the property owner (Mobile County) still has not picked up the litter from their property. Fishing Pigs just drive over their litter.

Really Ugly shoreline used by Fishing Pigs, Hunters and TNP animal wackos. Just like the City of Mobile, Mobile County does not give a shit what the public does with the Mobile County property either. It is ignored waterfront pollution as usual along the Gulf of Mexico in Alabama. Enjoy your polluted Alabama Seafood!

Mobile's MS4 Trash Train

Dauphin Island Bridge visible in the background. The City of Mobile's storm water trash is visible along the shoreline of Mobile Bay.

It is rather Ugly to see so much trash lining the State Highway along a Scenic Coastal Route. Who is failing to pick up the Mobile community's storm water trash? How many storm water litter pickers are employed in Mobile County? Still Zero?

It is Mardi Trash time again. Apparently some of the litter chunkers from Mobile attended Dauphin Island's Mardi Trash Parade. The littering criminals left a trail of China's plastic beads on the roadside from Dauphin Island all the way to Alabama Port.

But who cares if the environment gets polluted with more trash? Not the Alabama Department of Environmental Mismanagement. Even the shoreline of Mobile Bay is lined with trash because ADEM continues to allow the City of Mobile to pollute Mobile Bay with trash, some HAZARDOUS to public health and the environment.

What is going on in Mobile reminds me of Flint Michigan. The state of Michigan has let some of their waterways get so polluted that they cannot use the water in the drinking water supply.

Since ADEM is playing blind to the very visible trash pollution of Alabama waterways, I can only imagine what invisible to the eye and untested for chemicals lurk in Alabama's rivers.

McNally Park

Plenty of loose trash left on the ground a couple hundred feet away from Perch Creek at McNally Park. This is what happens when trash receptacles are dysfunctional.

Dysfunctional meaning the garbage receptacle is not securely covered. There are still open slots for scavenger animals to access the trash.

Dysfunctional meaning the garbage can has only narrow slots in it prohibiting the public from tossing larger objects such as a full bag of trash in the can. This causes people to leave larger trash on top of the garbage receptacle or on the ground.

The City of Mobile's archaic dysfunctional garbage receptacles at their City parks often yields the results seen above. Trash pollution next to waterways. That is Ugly!

Waterway Weirs

You would think with this amount of water flowing downstream that it would be impossible to kayak up to this small lowhead dam (known as a "weir" in Mobile) against the current. Wrong.

Hydraulic backwash is a hidden dangerous characteristic of lowhead dams or weirs. The backwash actually draws objects toward the waterfall. It is nearly impossible to escape the strength of the hydraulic spin zone action after an object like a kayak or person gets sucked into a lowhead dam waterfall during heavy water flow.

Lowhead dams are also called "Drowning Machines." Luckily the lowhead dam here on Montlimar Creek where it meets Moore Creek by Halls Mill Road normally flows at a trickle like seen in the above photo so the hydraulic spinning forces are weak. Even during weak flow the forces were still strong enough to draw the kayak to the waterfall.

This above photo is the same weir drop off when the water levels were higher due to rain runoff. You can actually see a dip in the water level just past the water fall.

Again, same weir (lowhead dam) location on Montlimar Creek after a heavy rain. In this view you can see a football and other trash trapped by the waterfall hydraulic action. The football kept getting sucked under water and then it would pop back up for a few seconds only to be sucked back under water again.

The same deadly trapped spinning action would happen to a kayak or a person or even a motorboat if any of them got near this lowhead dam during similar creek water levels.

The pathetic thing is not a single lowhead dam in Montlimar Creek or Three Mile Creek in Mobile has a warning sign to alert upstream kayakers or canoeists to the presence of the downstream lowhead dams. That is the Ugly truth. The City of Mobile is going to wait for someone to die before it will put up signs to warn waterway users of the deadly lowhead dam hazards.

Political Campaign Trash

Saw a campaign sign embedded in the side of Moore Creek today.

So who is responsible for this City of Mobile storm water trash?

Hahaha! It is Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson. Thanks for personally polluting Dog River Watershed Mayor Stimpson with YOUR campaign trash.

That is all the Moore reason the polluting Mobile Mayor should dedicate at least one full time City employee to remove the City's storm water trash as long there is shoreline trash to properly dispose of.

I wonder where that litter removal boat that ADEM required the City of Mobile to put to work is. The clean up boat certainly cannot be in Dog River Watershed.

Years of Irresponsible Neglect

The view of the shoreline of Dog River along a public Utility (MAWSS) three days ago. It is very obvious the City of Mobile's storm water trash in their Dog River trash chute has been ignored here for multiple years.

That must be because the City of Mobile has no plan to stop their pollution of Dog River and no plan to EVER clean up the waterway their community of litter chunkers have lined with a sickening amount of trash pollution. That is the Ugly reality seen from the camera's lens.

Press Register Polluter

The City of Mobile City Council addressed the aggressive Press Register distribution of their Gulf Coast Life ads last summer. What is it like now? Above, Press Register trash in the drainage ditch last week.

Press Register Trash in a drainage ditch Nov 2015.

3 pieces of slippery Press Register trash on a public sidewalk Dec 2015.

Above photo Press Register Trash in a drainage ditch seen this past weekend.

On the other side of the road are two more pieces of Press Register trash in another drainage ditch.

Where does the trash in drainage ditches end up? Polluting a public waterway. The submerged Press Register trash above is in Dog River seen two weeks ago.

More Press Register trash polluting a Mobile waterway.

The issue here is a company delivers their product by throwing it haphazardly on the ground even though it could be put on the door step or put in a mailbox or put in a paper box. It is well documented Press Register products end up polluting State waterways due the archaic form of delivery which pollutes waterways in violation of State and Federal laws.

The Ugly part is, despite the Mobile City Council knowing Press Register pollutes Mobile's waterways, they won't do anything to punish the polluter. Apparently Press Register's lawyers have more power than City lawyers. Yup, Corporate Bullies get away with polluting public waterways while environmental watch dog groups and state enforcement agencies have their head up their ass.

More Dangerous Storm Water Drains

January 2015 - It appears someone stole part of the steel grating on a narrow trench storm water drain. Big hazard to bicyclists and pedestrians.

January 2016 - An entire YEAR later and no one has bothered to fix the hazard. That hazard is 1-2 foot deep in some places.

Apparently the Dollar General people do not care about the hazardous entrance to their store nor does the maintainer of the City of Mobile's storm drainage system.

That is pretty Ugly. But that is decaying neglectful Mobile - more concerned about Mardi Gras than public safety.

Dangerous Nigger Rigging

December 2014 - BIG hole in the road pavement. That is a real road hazard, especially to bicyclists. Bicyclists are required by law to ride on the edge of the road.

January 10, 2016 - Over a year later and all the City of Mobile has done to deal with the dangerous storm water drain hole traffic hazard is to nigger rig it by covering the storm water inlet with plywood. That is pathetic.

How irresponsible can you get? Covering the storm water inlet reduces the amount of rain water that can drain during heavy rains. Plus the floatable plywood is subject to movement leaving bicyclists and other traffic at risk for their tire going into the same deep hole. The hole was partially uncovered yesterday.

The real issue here is what to do about the criminals stealing America's functional steel infrastructure to sell. What we need is some Sharia Law in Mobile. Catch the criminal on video (real evidence, not heresay) in the overt act of stealing government property. Destroying government infrastructure directly harms the government. That is Treason.

Hold the trial the next day and if found guilty put a bullet in the back of his or her head. THAT person will not be a bother to the government and public ever again. It is absurd at the amount stuff being stolen and at the amount of repeat offender thieves coming out of jail.

But, what can we really expect? There is not much crime deterrent factor when Americans sentence thieves to free food and shelter as punishment for their thievery. Criminals cannot even be spanked without some lawyer trying to get rich from the spanking. That is funny. That is why criminals are robbing America blind. That is why decaying cities like Mobile have to resort to nigger rigging the damage thieves leave behind.

Ugly Dollar General Polluter

Loose trash on the ground next to this dumpster behind Dollar General 50 feet away from Eslava Creek.

Loose trash all over the Dollar General property next to their fenced in dumpster. Dog River is about 1/3 of a mile away.

Loose trash spilling out from under this fenced in Dollar General dumpster washing down the concrete storm water drainage flume. Three Mile Creek is about 100 yards away.

Photos taken this past week. The City of Mobile municipal litter code enforcement team is totally ineffective thus like Dollar General contributing to the trash pollution of Mobile waterways.

Aggressive Baptist Recruiters

Litter from Old Paths Bible Baptist Church scattered along downtown Mobile streets New Years Day. The religious recruitment propaganda says, "...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

Oh boy, I want eternal life after I die! Who doesn't? Unfortunately the term "Eternal Life" means "without beginning." Contrary to religious propaganda, God cannot give you Eternal Life because you cannot BEGIN Eternal Life. You either have eternal life now or you don't.

Christianity relies on blatant lies right out of the man authored Bible to recruit people into their religious cults. Why? Give me ten percent of your income and I'll tell you why.

Meantime who is going to hold these sorry ass Christian criminals accountable for their Ugly criminal acts of mass littering (pun intended)?
