Spreading The Ugly

So how does Ugly trash get spread on the ground at public parks in Mobile? A trash spreader! The trash spreader in the above photo is digging trash out of the trash can at Helen Wood Park. Note the trash on the ground.

Overflowing trash cans attract trash spreaders yielding open trash bags and loose trash leaving it free to blow into the nearest waterway or ditch.

The prominence of trash spreaders aka dumpster divers is a direct consequence of an Ugly dysfunctional trash recycle program in the State of Alabama. There is no incentive for the public to recycle their recyclable trash. So there is plenty of trash worth money to the scavengers to dig for.

Alabama is a conservative state and resists change. The idiots making the laws to govern the people in the State of Alabama are unwilling to deal with the decades old problem of empty single use beverage containers littering the roadsides in increasing numbers.

Fantasy King Governor Robert Bentley is probably too busy talking on the phone about fondling the breasts of his female staff to have time to deal with real day problems.

Ugly Hippie Beach Redneck Boozers

Had great weather this past weekend bringing out the criminal litters. First thing noticed at Hippie Beach along Halls Mill Creek (Dog River Watershed) was discarded food in the beach water.

Alabama is decades behind the rest of the world with regards to recycling. Drinking pigs left bags of aluminum cans littering Hippie Beach.

It is idiotic to trash the beach you use. But boozers kill their brain cells leaving them pretty stupid.

Hazardous glass pieces litter the Halls Mill Creek shoreline compliments of the redneck retards. I hope the boozers go back to party another time and cut the hell out of their feet.

Ugly Zika Virus

Recently heard on the news: “Mobile poised to be ground Zero for the Zika virus.” Wow! The media is already generating hysteria about the Zika mosquito virus. If Local Media in Mobile is at all concerned about the potential health hazard of the Zika virus, the Media should constantly air hard hitting investigations and stop being so nice to the City of Mobile leaders and other governmental entities. As the City of Mobile ignores mosquito breeding grounds so will the public.

Only the Media can put duress on the City of Mobile leaders and others to make them accountable for their less than marginal performances and maintenance of infrastructure.

Standard engineering practices required by the City of Mobile force some developers to build detention ponds. Detention/Retention ponds are now located all over Mobile. Maybe creating ponds where stagnant water sits is not a good practice. Some detention ponds retain water long enough for mosquitoes to proliferate.

Image 1. Above photo shows a Detention Pond holding water at Wright Transportation off DIP. Nov 2015.

The City of Mobileʼs neglect of its storm drainage system yields another mosquito breeding nightmare. Many ditches fail to properly drain due to lack of maintenance. The City of Mobile is only one of many Governmental entities at fault for neglect of the drainage on their properties. Blocked inlets and pipes, overgrown curb and gutters, concrete ditches with trees growing in them, ditches blocked from illegal dumping and the list of causes of drainage blockages goes on.

Image 2. Above photo taken at Rabbit Creek Drive and Hamilton Blvd. This trashy ditch is unable to drain to the creek about 100 yards away and has been like this for years. Either ALDOT or the City of Mobile is not keeping the Hamilton Blvd. drainage system functional. The City of Mobile stopped maintaining Rabbit Creek Drive shortly after it annexed the roadway into the City. May 2016.

Image 3. The above image shows a concrete Gutter on Gill Road in Mobile that does not drain due to lack of maintenance. Nov. 2015.

Image 4. Watersheds in Mobile are highly neglected and poorly monitored. Not only are many boats sitting in the water without having a current license decal, some boats are mosquito breeding grounds. Stagnant water in this boat was seen in Paynes Creek (Dog River Watershed). Apr 2016.

Image 5. Above image is storm water trash polluted shoreline of One Mile Creek that I have been complaining to dozens of authorities (and the media) to clean up since 2011. 5 years later and no change despite all the complaints. That is pathetic. Items like this cooler are mosquito breeding grounds. With the mosquito threat, now maybe there is reason to remove the trash. Mar 2016.

Image 6. Shoreline of Dog River. This mosquito breeding storm water trash is about 100 yards from Dog River Park and is ignored year after year. I wonder where that required City of Mobile litter boat that I have never seen is and why it is ignoring shoreline trash like this. Feb 2016.

Image 7. City of Mobileʼs Schwartz Park off Riviere Du Chien Road. This City property is used by the public. It is a Dog River Scenic Blueway kayak launch site. Mobile needs to eliminate mosquito breeding places. The only way that will happen is if the Media shames City leaders, the public, and businesses by airing stories on the existing problems being ignored. The media needs to get tough on the City of Mobile! May 2016.

Ugly Norms in Mobile

Trashy ALDOT property next to a tidally influenced waterway. The City of Mobile is running off the homeless pigs, but will ALDOT or the City of Mobile ever remove the shoreline trash?

Mobile brags about how it is bringing in big industry jobs. Here is a photo of a APM Terminals personnel entrance by the new Container Facility. Note the overflowing garbage cans and trash spilled on the ground and into the parking lot. We do not need polluting trashy industries like this in Mobile!

Trashy shoreline of the City of Mobile's Dog River Park. The idiots who maintain the City park seem to always cut the shoreline weeds but they mostly leave the trash.

The new litter trap in Eslava Creek does not improve the trashy view in upper Dog River. What a stupid design. This old fashioned litter trap technology leaves the trash floating in the water. This litter trap is installed in a tidal zone with a big gap in the boom so trash can float back upstream and then downstream right past the litter trap. This litter trap has no gate to keep the trash inside the boom area. Plus, it has to be costly to mobilize a workforce after every rain to rake the spread out trash into the litter trap baskets for removal. Intelligent litter traps designs use a conveyor belt system to automatically lift the trash out of the water during the rain storm events. The storm water trash gets dumped off the conveyor belt on the ground or in a dumpster for easy access and removal. This litter trap requires a boat so people can push the trash into the litter baskets.

What good is installing an expensive litter trap when the shoreline both upstream and downstream of the litter trap looks like this? Communities suffering from storm water litter pollution should invest in a full time Clean Up Boat operation instead of wasting money on expensive litter traps that leave the waterway trashy.

Ugly Tire Industry

An all too common scene in Mobile is car tires discarded in drainage ditches.

Tires often show up on the shoreline at fishing holes.

Tires are not a product that consumers install themselves. So where are all the discarded tires coming from? There is something ugly going on in Mobile.

Maybe the illegally dumped tires are coming from a crooked tire store. Maybe tires are being discarded by illegal chop shops. Maybe tire serial numbers can be tracked. Maybe law enforcement can start cracking down at known dump areas and catch the assholes trashing Mobile. But, I guess we cannot expect much from leaders who are afraid to beat the fuck out of criminals and run their ass out of town for good. Criminals have all the rights and they ruin life in communities like Mobile.

Ugly Panhandlers

Cooper Riverside Park empty on a beautiful weekend day as usual. Well, empty except for the homeless people who sleep there.

Even nearby GulfQuest Museum is a popular hangout location for homeless people. Museums and parks make a great place for panhandling.

The City of Mobile is getting tough on the ugly panhandlers who prefer to stay that way like they are getting tough on littering... Litter like homeless panhandlers are still everywhere.

Mobile's Ugly Litter Storage System

One of Mobile's many Damaged Dysfunctional Trashy Storm Water Inlets in 2015.

Same Storm Water Inlet a year later in 2016. Who is maintaining Mobile's litter and trash storage system? Apparently no one. No wonder why when it rains in Mobile it floods...

What is inside Mobile's storm water inlets? The Mobile community's trash. The City of Mobile is apparently doing little to deal with the trash pollution caused by their municipal drainage system.

What is in Mobile's storm water drainage system? The Mobile Community's litter. This is the storm water ditch trash storage system at Brookley Airport compliments of the Doyle Road criminal litter chunkers and Mobile Airport Authority who ignores the trash stored in their drainage system year after year.
