Ugly Park Management in Mobile

There are not very many rules in City of Mobile Parks. Because there is little if any enforcement of the Park rules, Park rules are highly abused.

No parking on the grass? Because this rule is not enforced Mobile parks can be very muddy because the grass has been destroyed by people driving and parking all over the park's grass.

No littering? This is the Ugly City of Mobile's Helen Wood Park. This Ugly consequence is the result of Park neglect by the City of Mobile.

Nothing changes in Mobile's parks when it comes to the gross neglect of enforcement of park rules and park maintenance. The end result are Ugly fucking parks in the Shitty of Mobile. Welcome to Mobile, the City of Trash and home of the growing population of Litter Chunkers and apathetic City leaders.

Ugly D'Olive Creek

Storm Water Trash is also a problem in Baldwin County. Here are some photos taken in the tidal zone of upper D'Olive Creek.

Obviously no one removes the trash pollution from this trash polluted creek. Just another example of the neglect of waterway pollution in Alabama.

Who is is responsible for keeping the creek clean? Spanish Fort? They are totally neglecting their responsibility.

One source of trash pollution in the creek is obvious. People driving the Interstate.

Prisoners on rare occasions remove trash from Interstate roadsides but they never seem to remove the trash from the shorelines beneath bridges. That is neglect of waterway pollution.

Ugly Zika Virus

Recently heard on the news: “Mobile poised to be ground Zero for the Zika virus.” Wow! The media is already generating hysteria about the Zika mosquito virus. If Local Media in Mobile is at all concerned about the potential health hazard of the Zika virus, the Media should constantly air hard hitting investigations and stop being so nice to the City of Mobile leaders and other governmental entities. As the City of Mobile ignores mosquito breeding grounds so will the public.

Only the Media can put duress on the City of Mobile leaders and others to make them accountable for their less than marginal performances and maintenance of infrastructure.

Standard engineering practices required by the City of Mobile force some developers to build detention ponds. Detention/Retention ponds are now located all over Mobile. Maybe creating ponds where stagnant water sits is not a good practice. Some detention ponds retain water long enough for mosquitoes to proliferate.

The City of Mobileʼs neglect of its storm drainage system yields another mosquito breeding nightmare. Many ditches fail to properly drain due to lack of maintenance. The City of Mobile is only one of many Governmental entities at fault for neglect of the drainage on their properties. Blocked inlets and pipes, overgrown curb and gutters, concrete ditches with trees growing in them, ditches blocked from illegal dumping and the list of causes of drainage blockages goes on.

Ugly Norms in Mobile

Trashy ALDOT property next to a tidally influenced waterway. The City of Mobile is running off the homeless pigs, but will ALDOT or the City of Mobile ever remove the shoreline trash?

Mobile brags about how it is bringing in big industry jobs. Here is a photo of a APM Terminals personnel entrance by the new Container Facility. Note the overflowing garbage cans and trash spilled on the ground and into the parking lot. We do not need polluting trashy industries like this in Mobile!

The new litter trap in Eslava Creek does not improve the trashy view in upper Dog River. What a stupid design. This old fashioned litter trap technology leaves the trash floating in the water. This litter trap is installed in a tidal zone with a big gap in the boom so trash can float back upstream and then downstream right past the litter trap. This litter trap has no gate to keep the trash inside the boom area. Plus, it has to be costly to mobilize a workforce after every rain to rake the spread out trash into the litter trap baskets for removal. Intelligent litter traps designs use a conveyor belt system to automatically lift the trash out of the water during the rain storm events. The storm water trash gets dumped off the conveyor belt on the ground or in a dumpster for easy access and removal. This litter trap requires a boat so people can push the trash into the litter baskets.

What good is installing an expensive litter trap when the shoreline both upstream and downstream of the litter trap looks like this? Communities suffering from storm water litter pollution should invest in a full time Clean Up Boat operation instead of wasting money on expensive litter traps that leave the waterway trashy.

Mobile's Ugly Litter Storage System

Same Storm Water Inlet a year later in 2016. Who is maintaining Mobile's litter and trash storage system? Apparently no one. No wonder why when it rains in Mobile it floods...

What is inside Mobile's storm water inlets? The Mobile community's trash. The City of Mobile is apparently doing little to deal with the trash pollution caused by their municipal drainage system.

What is in Mobile's storm water drainage system? The Mobile Community's litter. This is the storm water ditch trash storage system at Brookley Airport compliments of the Doyle Road criminal litter chunkers and Mobile Airport Authority who ignores the trash stored in their drainage system year after year.

With Press Register newsprint products delivered to people on the ground, why is seeing Press Register trash on the ground no surprise? Why do leaders allow paper products to be thrown on the ground to begin with?

There seems to be a lot of people who think the answer to the profuse litter problem in Mobile is educating the public. So, decision makers are quick to spend more money on public service announcements, signs, and anti litter education programs. 

Some Dog experts agree there are certain breeds of dogs that are real easy to train compared to the rest of dogs. In that respect there are some human breeds that are about impossible to train. Why do I say that?

Despite all the litter PSA's, signs, videos, campaigns, etc., public littering in trashy Mobile continues unabated proving litter education is about worthless in a community with so many stupid human breeds.

It is time for Mobile leaders to face reality. Mobile seems to consist of many human breeds that are incapable of being educated. Mobilians might as well get used to living in a trash dump. The law enforcement system is corruptedly geared to generating fine money instead of correcting unacceptable human behavior through real painful punishment. Becaue of that unacceptable criminal behavior is now the norm. 

I suggest Mobile leaders mandate the punishment for littering be a painful bare botttom ass whooping with a cane. Let surgeons sew up their ass in the prison hospital. Bring back the Pain in Punishment for criminal behavior to give criminals an incentive to change their criminal habits.

No Improvement in Dog River

I heard scuttlebutt from a source that the City of Mobile's new litter boat crew will not remove the City's storm water trash from the shoreline of private properties. That is where the majority of trash pollution is. The trashy shoreline in the above photo is a City Park. Nothing preventing City workers from removing trash from the City Park shoreline except for committment to clean up trashy Dog River.

Talk is cheap. A City councilman says the City may be doing more than they should to Clean up Dog River. To me, it appears the City of Mobile does not give a shit about Dog River at all and they certainly do not care to keep City parks clean. The City of Mobile sets the standard for keeping properties free of trash. As the community sees how the City does not care, residents also become apathetic about litter.

Dog River Park shoreline typically looks like a garbage dump because City workers ignore the shoreline trash easily removed by a grabber or net. Where is the Media on this 5 year old issue? Where are the Environmental enforcment agencies, environmental groups, and environmental lawyers? Why are they not suing the hell out of the City of Mobile for ignoring waterway pollution? Mobile and Alabama leadership reminds me of Flint Michigan leadership. Something is corrupt when visible pollution is ignored.

This is Willow Run Creek. It is yet another trashy tributary in Dog River watershed. Why is it trashy? The trash pollution is ignored year after year. Still no improvement in the Dog River trash pollution.

Someone says the City of Mobile has a litter removal boat. If the City has a litter removal boat the crew must be on vacation 7 days a week or they must be spending most of their time playing on their phone or are fishing instead removing trash. I have never seen a litter removal boat and all the tributaries in Dog River remain polluted with trash.

What is up in Mobile?

Clear cutting is par for the course in Alabama. This large plot of land next to Walmart in Tillman's Corner has been cleared either to make it more sellable or it is being prepared for some sort of development.

Of no surprise, the illegal trash dump at the end of the Rangeline Service Road next to Walmart continues to be ignored year after year...that is Ugly.

Trash in the ditch along Rangeline Road (State Road) is ignored as well as weeds that partially hide the fire hydrant. Alabama has money problems and it apparently cannot afford to maintain its infrastructure.

Erosion on this Gilliard Road roadside has covered part of the sidewalk in sand so thick bicycles will crash trying to ride across it.

Speaking of erosion, Municipal Park Lakes are filling up with dirt that erodes from park shorelines and from upstream erosion from Tewlve Mile Creek. Shoreline erosion is one of the consequences of the City of Mobile regularly killing the shoreline weeds around the Lakes.

Uncontrolled Municipal Park erosion can clearly be seen in the above photo filling in the lake with dirt. It will cost taxpayers dearly to repair the erosion damage by dredging the lakes and Three Mile Creek. If Municipal Park was a construction site the Park Owner (City) could be fined for polluting the environment due to lack of erosion controls. As the waterways fill with dirt, rain water levels will rise possibly causing more severe flooding in heavy rains.

Eroded dirt is so high against this unmaintained silt fence on College Street construction site that dirt overtops the silt fence and is free to erode into the drainage gutter. Obviously the State and City rules and regulations and required construction site monitoring are falling short of controlling erosion into area waterways.

Hell, City leaders cannot even control where one time use disposable recyclable trash ends up. Humans are stupid for filling their waterways with dirt and trash. It does not take a scientist to understand that everything that goes into the water displaces water causing the water level to rise. Think worse flooding in the future.

Speaking of stupidity, even though the American Disibility Act has been in force for over 25 years, they are still building sidewalks with wheelchair unfriendly 6 inch curb drops at intersections in Mobile.

Ugly Chickasaw Creek

Lots of metal trashing the shoreline of this "working" creek aka Chickasabogue Creek. Here is a motor half way submerged in the water.

The amount of trash floating in and accumulating along Chickasaw Creek is growing because the people trashing their community waterway obviously have no one working to keep it clean.

Eight Mile Creek is just one tributary contributing to Chickasaw Creek watershed's trash pollution.

Uliimately communities are responsible for polluting their own waterways with increasing amounts of trash and for regularly removing that trash pollution. The density of storm water trash pollution in a watershed is a direct reflection of the people living in those communities. Alabama communities are seemingly made up of a profuse amount of White trash. Black trash. Mexican trash. Asian trash. Etc.

But littering communities are not entirely to blame for waterway trash pollution. There are things going on in other States which reduce community litter by as much as 80 or so percent like drink container deposit laws. Trouble is rich bottling corporations like Coke use their money to fight bottle bill legislation. Despite the effectiveness of bottle bill laws in terms of getting roadside bottles removed and recycled, only 10 states have bottle bill laws (1). So, thank Corporate America for polluting Earth with so much plastic. 

The big bully corporations recognize the value of their empty bottles on the side of most roads as in your face where ever you walk free advertising. Beverage companies are willing to outspend environmental efforts that are trying to make single use recycleable containers too valuable to leave on the roadsides by 30 to 1 to make sure bottle bill laws do not pass. That way greedy corporations get to keep their Ugly roadside litter advertising.

My way to punish the greedy corporations responsible for polluting America and the Earth? I boycott buying drink products. Besides, the petroleum chemicals being used to make many plastic bottles are said to disrupt the endocrine system in people leading to things like obesity. All the more reason to avoid buying drinks in plastic bottles.

MS4 Trash Affects Entire Watersheds

A community's Storm Water Trash can negatively affect entire watersheds. 

Take for instance Dog River Watershed in Mobile Alabama. Many property owners leave the city's MS4 trash on their shoreline like seen at this $1.5 Million dollar home along lower Dog River. 

Ignoring trash pollution on the shoreline of public waterways cannot be good for waterfront property values. Who wants to buy a home next to a waterway trash landfill?

Retarded Geniuses

The brilliant minds of humans are smart enough to design and build a floating crane barge that can house 300 people and lift objects weighing as much as 3,526,000 Pounds. That is not speculation. That is what the Tetra Hedron barge crane pictured above can do. 

But human geniuses cannot figure out how to design and build a machine that can lift and remove cups and plastic bottles that weigh less than an ounce each from polluted creeks and rivers. That is not speculation. It is pathetic fact.

Dense City of Mobile's Storm Water Trash pollution is the constant reality of Three Mile Creek. And despite years of complaints to local, county, state and federal authorities none of the human geniuses and leaders can figure out how to pick up and properly dispose of the light weight trash from the polluted waterways and shorelines in Mobile. (Psst! It is no secret. All that is needed is a cheap boat and a laborer or two working full time to remove the trash out of a polluted waterway in Mobile.)

Humans who alter a former drinking water supply that also could be a valuable recreational tourist attracting waterway asset, turning it into a nauseous looking polluted litter storage creek that ultimately deters recreational tourism shows just how retarded the geniuses of the human species really are.

Ugly Trail Pollution

Trails that are built to attract runners, cyclists, skaters, and walkers should be maintained in a healthy way.

Unfortunately the short Crepe Myrtle Trail in Mobile is maintained in an Ugly unhealthy way. Instead of using manual labor to keep the trailside grass and weeds under control, chemicals like Roundup are used. Above photo shows half the trail all brown after being sprayed with killer herbicides.

After the trail was neglected for so long that trees were about to ruin the fence, the City had to bring out chainsaws to cut down the trees. Unfortunately the City workers left the trail polluted with petroleum.

Mere feet away from the trail, a ditch on Brookley Airport property (Mobile Airport Authority) stays polluted with storm water trash year after year. 

That is Mobile Alabama for you. Polluting their fitness trail to the point that you dare not forage on the edible foods along the trail. That is retarded. The more Earth this generation pollutes with chemicals and trash the more polluted Earth gets.
